Chess biography of the prime Czechoslovak chess grandmaster. Oldrich Duras (1882-1957). in the course of his major, 1906-1912, Duras performed in 15 of the most powerful 24 tournaments held in these seven years, and verified himself as the best ten or twelve avid gamers on this planet. His maximum success used to be at Vienna 1908 whilst he got here first (+11=6-2) equivalent with Maroczy and Schlechter, prior to Rubinstein. He additionally shared first prize with Schlechter at Prague 1908 (+11=5-3), and with Rubinstein at Breslau 1912 (+10=4-3); and he took moment prizes at Nuremberg 1906 (+8=6-2), Vienna 1907 (+5=8), and Hamburg 1910 (+8=6-2).
